Thanksgiving...

This year we drove to Savannah to spend Thanksgiving with the Shaws…

We had such a wonderful time together.  We hardly saw the big kids at all and although Peter was still mostly next to me, he did enjoy playing at their neighborhood park a few times with the older kids.  (To be fair, Pete wasn't feeling well so he did okay considering.)

Sherry is an outstanding cook and Thanksgiving dinner was fabulous.  What's funny is that you would have never realized that's what she was cooking because it seemed so effortless.

I mean, look how spotless her kitchen is and
we sat down to eat a few minutes after I took this photo!

Smiling as if they made it!  ha ha.

On Friday we all went into downtown Savannah to have lunch and walk around…

Anthropologie's Opening Day was on Black Friday so we got to check everything out and enjoy 20% off the entire store!

The kids played a funny game of Headbandz when we got back…

We are already making big plans for when the Daddys get back.  (Rob is scheduled to deploy in less than a week.)

Henry, Jack, Lily, Pete, James

On our way back to NC we stopped by our old house (since it is only 15 mins from where the Shaws live).   There was a new, young couple out front decorating for Christmas and they graciously stepped inside so I could take a few pictures.  This was the first home we bought together, the one we brought James home from the hospital to, the one Chris deployed for a year from and returned to on James's 1st birthday, the one where we met so many wonderful friends.

It brought back so many memories to see it in person again…

We got home on Saturday evening and everyone did their best to unwind and relax…

Because on Sunday we woke up and started decorating for Christmas!!!

    1. Megan… I KNOW!! Henry's gotten so much "older" looking lately, I agree. It's kind of neat and a little bittersweet all at the same time. I think he looks so handsome in pictures when he's smiling and not making a goofy face. :)

About Me

My photo
I am a stay-at-home mom to 3 energetic, funny, sweet, and crazy boys. I married my best friend, Chris, and love our life together. The Army is sending him overseas soon so I thought this blog would be a great way for him (and the grandparents!) to keep up with our hectic life. Unfortunately the Army keeps us too far from family and most of our friends so hopefully this will help us stay connected.
