2 Weeks Down...

Today marks 2 weeks since Chris has been gone and, if I do say so myself, I think we're doing pretty well.  Today also marks the third Sunday in a row I've had to teach Sunday school so that will be one nice to-do checked off after this morning (volunteers are scheduled for a month at a time).

Aside from James's big 9th birthday and slumber party, we've spent hours and hours at basketball practices and games while Daddy has been away…

Here Pete is cozying up to a lady we HAVE NEVER MET BEFORE at James's basketball game yesterday.  She appeared to love it and after the game asked if she could bring him home with her!  (I only considered it for a few seconds.)

Peter has colored countless pages at all of these basketball events...
We survived Mr. T.  Seriously… this dude was at Henry's basketball camp yesterday wearing a CHAIN and I just had to get a picture (can I get some props for doing so??  Imagine if I'd been caught!)
The big boys are on a massive Lego kick right now.  They emptied all of our Lego buckets looking for special police men.
James used his birthday money to buy this Lego City kit and put the entire thing together by himself. (Praise Jesus we're at that phase in life finally.)
The boys are not living exclusively on chicken nuggets.  Yesterday I made whole wheat banana and dark chocolate chip muffins-- with chia and flax seeds!  The boys gobbled them up without realizing all of the added health food.  We'll see if the aftermath is worth it… hee hee.
Peter is still a fantastic eater.  Here he is eating a plate of broccoli and avocado-- a snack he asked for!
Despite some cooler temps, the boys have logged lots of outdoor time.

Peter barely wears a shirt anymore.  Without exaggeration, one of the first things he does when he gets outside lately is strip off his shirt.  It was only about 50 degrees this day.  You can see in the pictures above him holding his shirt on his bike.
You can lead a horse to water...
Slash-y-poo-poo is alive and thriving.  The boys still enjoying getting him out and "playing" with him…

So that's about all of the happenings around here lately.  Two weeks down, two more to go… Even though the boys have been busy with school and friends and sports, they definitely miss their Daddy!

I am a stay-at-home mom to 3 energetic, funny, sweet, and crazy boys. I married my best friend, Chris, and love our life together. The Army is sending him overseas soon so I thought this blog would be a great way for him (and the grandparents!) to keep up with our hectic life. Unfortunately the Army keeps us too far from family and most of our friends so hopefully this will help us stay connected.
