Things that make me say...

Hmmmm....

1.  A puppy who prefers to drag his bedding outside, and yet still very near, his crate to rest...

2.  A bounce house we rented that requires a forklift to put in the car.  Last I checked, we don't own a forklift.

3.  A husband who invited several families over for a Pig Roast on Sunday but last I heard hadn't even seen a pig (he's out hog hunting with his dad today and tomorrow).  Good thing I have a back-up menu planned...

4.  A car with "lick me" scribbled out of filth/ pollen on the back of a truck driven by a man at least 75 years old.  How long until he notices it's there, I wonder?  (If you enlarge the picture, you should be able to see it written on the back.)

5.  A sense of relief that even given the unfortunate election results, our children are still being taught to love this wonderful country and the veterans who have fought and died for it.  (A little more enthusiasm from James would've been nice but, truth be told, singing isn't quite his thing...)  Hey, if there's something the South does well, it's teaching respect!

(James is in the red jacket; Nicolas is in blue.)

We plan to celebrate this Veteran's Day weekend with family, friends (of which, all of the men are veterans), lots of beer, and pulled pork.  Pretty much the way it should be done I suppose!

  1. Most fortunate election results! America chose very well.

    Have fun at the party!

  2. Why did you think James wouldn't be taught to respect and love our country even though Obama won again? Of course he is! Obama has as much pride in our country as Romney... and always shows respect toward our troops.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom to 3 energetic, funny, sweet, and crazy boys. I married my best friend, Chris, and love our life together. The Army is sending him overseas soon so I thought this blog would be a great way for him (and the grandparents!) to keep up with our hectic life. Unfortunately the Army keeps us too far from family and most of our friends so hopefully this will help us stay connected.
