Lego KidFest!

Today I surprised the boys and took them to the Lego KidFest in Raleigh!  Here's the link if you've never heard of it before: Lego KidFest

All I can say is… WOW!  I've never seen so many Legos in my life.  Millions upon millions of Legos!  Each boy wore a Lego shirt to the exhibit.  I didn't realize how many we had to pick from!  We've collected quite a few...
The view as we were heading down… displays were broken down into popular Lego themes (Legos of Chima, Ninjago, Lego City, Lego Police, Lego Brick Battlefield, Lego Duplo, etc.)
Here are a few that we took pictures in front of...

Gandledorf (??) from Harry Potter.  (I'm sure Aunt Megan and Ms. Cortney will be mad if I got that one wrong!)
 Lightening McQueen from Cars...

 One of several Clone Troopers...
 R2D2 and C3PO...
 Chewbacca...

Mounds of Legos for the kids to play in...

 Pete did lots of jumping...
 and landing!
One of the cool creations James built while we were there...
Each boy built their own square "piece" to add to the giant Lego map of the United States...
All of these Legos were assembled and put here in the two days the Lego KidFest was in Raleigh!  After our "show" today, the workers have to break down every single piece.
It was shocking to see what some people made in the short time they were at the exhibit (detailed college logos, the Empire State building, Star Wars scenes, Lego scenes… designs that absolutely could have been in magazines!)
 Lego City...

 Harry Potter...

The boys had a wonderful time and somehow we walked away with only spending $20 at their gift shop??!!!  Shocking, no?  Of course, tickets were $20 per child and $22 for me but overall, it was worth it!

I am a stay-at-home mom to 3 energetic, funny, sweet, and crazy boys. I married my best friend, Chris, and love our life together. The Army is sending him overseas soon so I thought this blog would be a great way for him (and the grandparents!) to keep up with our hectic life. Unfortunately the Army keeps us too far from family and most of our friends so hopefully this will help us stay connected.
